Pub of the Week: The Carpenter’s Arms, Eastling

Nestled amid the beautiful countryside of the Kent Downs, the picturesque pub dates back to the 14th century, and still retains many original features including authentic oak beams and inglenook fireplaces.
The Carpenters Arms also has a spacious patio courtyard surrounded by a white picket fence, perfect for soaking up the sunshine during the summer months.
It is a renowned dining destination, due to its delicious menu of home-cooked pub classics and contemporary dishes. The pub’s Sunday Roast, boasting locally sourced meat and vegetables, homemade Yorkshire puddings and lashings of rich gravy is particularly popular, and booking is advised.
Food is served from 12 noon to 2.30pm and 5.30pm to 8.30pm, Monday to Thursday; 12 noon to 2.30pm and 5.30pm to 9pm, Friday; 12 noon to 2.30pm and 6pm to 9pm on Saturday; and from 12 noon on Sunday.
And, of course, you are welcome just for a drink. The pub is currently serving Master Brew, Early Bird and Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, along with Amstel, Spitfire Lager, Guinness and Shepherd Neame’s own Orchard View cider. There’s also an international wine list, Champagne available by the glass, and fresh coffee.
