Pub of the Week: Singleton Barn, Ashford
Singleton Barn is a beautifully converted tithe barn on the outskirts of Ashford, dating to 1631.
Inside, the historic nature of the building shines through in its old oak beams, and open rafters which give the pub a spacious, airy feel. Outside there is a large, family friendly garden with plenty of seating, and a play area.
For those looking to watch the match, there’s live sport on TV from BT Sport, plus the pub’s own football, darts and pool teams which are always open to new players.
On the bar you’ll find quality cask ales, plus wines from around the world, soft drinks, and all your usual favourites.
The menu offers a crowd-pleasing combination of pub classics with choices that offer something a little bit different, so whether you fancy trying some Indonesian Prawn Nasi Goreng, or keeping it simple with a Steak and Spitfire Ale pie with mash and gravy, they’ve got it covered. There are also daily specials, burgers, vegetarian dishes, and a children’s menu. On Sundays you can linger over a traditional roast, with a selection of meats, fresh veg, homemade Yorkshires and real gravy. Food is served every day 12 – 9pm.
With regular live music and quiz nights, there’s plenty going on at Singleton Barn, including the popular ‘Last Friday of the Month Disco’. Private hire is also available, with areas suitable for all kinds of parties and functions.
