SHEPHERD NEAME LAUNCHES ITS FIRST PUB WALK OF 2023, TAKING IN THE ICONIC WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER
For those wanting to get out and explore in 2023, independent family brewer and pub company Shepherd Neame has launched its latest Pub Walk – and it comes with a view of France!
Whether you would like to shift some of those lingering Christmas calories, or have vowed to explore more of what’s on your doorstep this year, the walk also has the added bonus of starting and finishing at Shepherd Neame pub The Coastguard in St Margaret’s Bay.
The historic seaside pub, which is right on the beach, is a haven for those enjoying the often bracing cliff walks and lays claim to being Britain’s nearest pub to France - on a clear day, it has a view across the waves to Calais.
The five-mile walk takes you from The Coastguard towards Dover along the top of its famous White Cliffs, and takes around two and a half hours.
Sights to take in along the way include the famous White Cliffs and the National Trust’s South Foreland Lighthouse.
It joins 14 other Pub Walk guides which take in a wide variety of terrains and beautiful scenery across Kent and East Sussex, perfect to enjoy with or without a four-legged friend. Most importantly, they all start and finish at a Shepherd Neame pub, so you can reward yourself at the end with a well-earned drink or a bite to eat.
Shepherd Neame’s Managing Director, Pubs, Jonathon Swaine, said: “Our Pub Walks have proved incredibly popular since we first launched them in 2020.
“They are a great way to encourage people to get out and about and explore some of the breathtaking countryside in the South East, as well as, of course, the chance to relax and rewind afterwards enjoying something to eat or drink at one of our unique pubs.”
All the Shepherd Neame Pub Walk guides are available to pick up free at each pub, as well as to download from the Walks page: www.shepherdneame.co.uk/walks.
