Pub of the Week: The Wharf, Dartford
The Wharf, in the Crossways area of Dartford, is a spacious and contemporary pub that enjoys a fabulous location overlooking scenic Cotton Lake. It is the perfect place for a family meal or to unwind with friends.
The pub has an excellent reputation for its food and diners can select from a varied, adventurous and extensive new menu.
This menu includes a selection of small plates, such as grilled mackerel fillet, five spiced duck salad and a tomato and pickled shallot bruschetta.
There is also a separate burger menu, which includes a vegan Jack and bean burger (red lentil and shredded Jackfruit), a selection of classic sandwiches through to more substantial mains, such as grilled British lamb leg steak, ham and eggs, sirloin steak and fish and chips. Also available is a vegetarian and vegan-friendly mushroom, leek and tarragon risotto.
The pub has won plaudits for its traditional Sunday roast offering and bookings are now being taken for Mother’s Day, for which a special menu has been conceived.
Pouring at the bar are a selection of premium lagers and classic cask ales from Britain’s oldest brewery.
