Official Launch for New Look Surrey Pub
A launch party was held at the new look Poyntz Arms in East Molesey on Tuesday, September 29.
Licensees Michael O’Reilly and son Corey took over the Shepherd Neame pub in April this year. Since then, the pair have undertaken a joint £150,000 refurbishment with the brewery.
Work included redesigning and fully refurbishing the bar area, including putting in a new copper brewing kettle from which the pub’s international range of beers are dispensed.
The pub also has a new bespoke glass lobby entrance, and contemporary new flooring, furniture and feature lighting throughout.
Outside, the garden has been landscaped, with new lighting and furniture added, including a covered pergola featuring outdoor heaters for smokers, and the pub exterior has been repainted.
The kitchen has also been completely refitted, as Michael and Corey have introduced food at the pub for the first time, offering a delicious smokehouse barbecue and grill menu.
Local dignitaries and residents were invited to the official opening event, with the first pint pulled by the Mayor of Elmbridge, Cllr Jan Fuller.
Michael said:
We were delighted at the number of people who came out to celebrate with us at the launch. The pub has been going from strength to strength since the makeover, with our new food offer proving really popular. We would like to thank all our customers for their fantastic support.
Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame also attended the launch event, and to mark the occasion presented a cheque for £500 to Carer Support Elmbridge.
Jonathan Neame said:
