Pub of the Week: The Chequers, Doddington
The Chequers Inn is an historic pub that has been an integral part of Doddington village life for centuries. It is rich in history, retaining many period features such as oak timbers, mullion windows and a cosy inglenook fireplace.
Inside, the pub has been recently refurbished and now includes a snug bar, separate restaurant area, and games room, in addition to the main bar area. There is also a large garden for when the weather is fair.
The pub is popular with walkers and ramblers, and there are a variety of circular walks that can be taken to incorporate a well-deserved lunch at The Chequers – including the Syndale Valley Walk, which takes in the picturesque scenery of the Syndale Valley. Dogs are welcome in the snug.
