Pub of the Week: The Ostrich Inn, Colnbrook

The Ostrich is an historic coaching inn in the village of Colnbrook, near Heathrow.  Dating back to the 12th century, it retains many period features, such as old oak beams, fireplaces, crooked stairs, and a cobbled courtyard.

Inside, the décor and furnishings are a well-considered balance of the old and the modern, creating a comfortable, contemporary atmosphere while complementing the pub’s historic features. Outside, there is a pleasant, sunny courtyard for al fresco dining and relaxing with friends.

The Ostrich offers traditional, tasty British pub food, with a focus on seasonal dishes, all freshly cooked to order. The menu is designed to offer everything from a quick lunch with friends, to a special dinner for that important occasion.

Whether you have a hankering for a fish and chip supper, or want to linger over something more substantial, like a herb crusted rack of lamb with black olive stuffing, potato rosti and wilted spinach, the Ostrich has something to offer.
