CELEBRATING SHEPHERD NEAME’S BEER AND PUBS IN THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF CAMRA’S GOOD BEER GUIDE

Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame and its pubs are celebrated in the newly published 50th anniversary edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide.
 

The guide, which is published annually by CAMRA, is compiled by thousands of independent volunteers, who this year surveyed 4,500 pubs across the UK. It is the definitive beer drinker’s guide to the very best pints in the most picturesque and friendly pubs. Recommendations consider beer quality as well as the history and architecture of a pub and various aspects such as food, gardens, family and disabled facilities and special events. 

The 50th anniversary edition recommends the following Shepherd Neame pubs across Kent, London and the South East as places to enjoy a great pint:

•    Bear Inn, Faversham
•    Chequer Inn, Steyning
•    Earl Grey, Northfleet
•    Eleanor Arms, Bow
•    George and Dragon, Thames Ditton
•    Golden Lion, Broad Oak
•    Greyhound, Keston
•    Mackland Arms, Rainham
•    Running Horse, Leatherhead
•    Woolpack, Banstead

Award-winning author Laura Hadland, who has written a bespoke foreword for the South East section of the Guide, also praises Shepherd Neame’s award-winning brewery tour, writing ‘The South East offers a charming selection of memorable activities, not least a visit to Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame in Faversham, Kent.’
